What is Hospice?

Hospice is a special approach to care that focuses on the patient's quality of life. It focuses on controlling pain and other symptoms while also meeting the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of each individual during their end-of-life journey.

Hospice focuses on quality of life. It's about providing comfort, easing pain, listening, or sharing a smile. Often referred to as "palliative", or comfort care, hospice affirms life and does not hasten the end of life.

Our professional team members focus on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones, offering the care they choose in a variety of settings.

When is hospice needed?

1. When the goal of treatment has changed from curative to comfort care Cross Timbers Hospice will be here for you and your loved ones.
2. When medical treatments cannot cure an illness, Cross Timbers Hospice can help. A patient is eligible for the Hospice services when he or she has a life-limiting illness with a prognosis of six months or less.
