Bereavement Services

South Central Oklahoma's only non-profit hospice, serving our community since 1981.

Bereavement Services

Cross Timbers Hospice care does not end at the time of the loved one's passing. Our bereavement services can help assess and monitor an individual's coping mechanisms and grief processes, allowing us to custom tailor care to their needs. We educate hospice families on the normal grieving process and help guide them through utilization of existing support systems. For high-risk individuals, we can provide referrals and intervention as indicated. Since staying connected during this time is so important, we provide frequent follow-ups through phone calls, visits and invitations to planned activities and special events.

Additional Resources

The Healing Promise of Grief

  • Volunteers: Specially trained volunteers are available to hospice families to assist in the period of bereavement to help the bereaved utilize and expand their support.
  • Counseling: Certain hospice families may need or desire personal contact with counselors.
  • Hospice Library: Cross Timbers offers inspirational and informative literature and videos that are available for loan.
  • Bereavement Support Group Meetings/Activities: An opportunity to work through grief with others who are grieving. Bereavement support groups and activities will be offered throughout the year and are open to families served by Cross Timbers Hospice as well as the community. Please call for more information.
